 Post subject: Georgia Fire (Traynor) Org and Individual Tryouts

The Georgia Fire (Traynor) team is having organizational tryouts this Sunday from 1-3pm at Sharon Springs Park (1950 Sharon Rd, Cumming GA 30041)

Saturday is set for individual tryouts - contact Coach Traynor to schedule a time at 678-896-2189 or

We have added former collegiate athletes, and high school coaches to our coaching staff (more information below).

We are looking for committed “A” level players who are interested in playing at the collegiate level.

We will play in 3 showcases this Fall – Champions, Legacy, and the Fall Sizzler and have scheduled 2 college camps with a third in the works.

In the spring we will focus on national berths for both PGF and USA Softball (formerly ASA).

There will be a strong focus on college recruiting.

Established in 2001, the Georgia Fire Program has developed 250 student-athletes that have received Scholarships and played for NCAA DI, DII, & DIII Universities, NAIA Colleges & Universities and JUCO's. Former GA FIRE players have excelled in the NCAA Women's College World Series, the Women’s Softball Pro League and played for Team USA.

New coaches:
Jenn Wood - Asst. Coach
Playing experience - Kennesaw State University.
Positions Played: Catcher, First Base
Accomplishments: High School All County, Two Time NCAA National Championship Team at KSU. NCAA all Region Tournament Team.
Coaching Experience: Ten Years Coaching experience including Walton High School Asst. Coach (State Championship Team). Ga Fire Asst. Coach 18U Gold.

Kelly MacAuthor - Development Coach
Playing Experience - UAB & Kennesaw State University.
Positions Played: First Base, Third Base
Accomplishments: High School State Championship Team, All County, All State, NCAA National Championship Playoffs, NCAA Region Playoff MVP. NCAA All Region Team.
Coaching Experience: Eight Years coaching experience including Etowah High School, Ga Fire 18U Gold.

Tom Lamb - Assistant Coach
Thirty years of youth coaching experience. One of the founding coaches for Ga Fire and was responsible for player and coach development.
Member of Coaching staff for first Ga Fire 18U Gold Team.
Traveled nationally and internationally including Tournaments in Canada and Europe with best finishes 9th in ASA Gold and runner up in Canada Cup.
Player college placements Includes: Alabama, Ga Tech, UNC, UAB, KSU,TN Tech, Purdue, UVA, University of N Ga.
